We continue to go bigger and bolder. Our latest project looks at the modernisation of a dated exterior elevation. The project combines a simple pallet of render, timber and brick with a few key spacial alterations to create new spaces within the existing footprint of the property.
The scheme eradicates the cellular nature of the existing house and opens up the rear into a fully open plan kitchen/dining lounge area. The "inside/out" connection is made with the garden through the use of large corner bi-folding screens. Under floor heating is incorporated to create specific heating zones within the house along with a feature floating log burner.
The introduction of an open spiral staircase and structural glass box provide both light and a vertical connection to the new balcony level. The new balcony serves as a entertainment space and also provides direct access from the master and second bedroom.
The remaining alterations look at creating an extended library, bathroom relocations and the inclusion of new en-suites to 2 of the bedrooms.
The next phase will look at the front of the property, garden areas, and second floor guest areas.
